Hunks in Heels: Walking a Mile in Her Shoes

If the idea of watching prominent male members of Baton Rouge's business, sports, and entertainment communities tottering down a runway wearing brightly decorated high heels sounds like a fun time, the Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response organization (STAR) has an event for you! Hunks in Heels: the Walk a Mile Runway Show recruits area men to put their best feet forward wearing high heels whimsically designed by area artists, and soliciting donations from their friends and associates along the way. It all comes to a head at the Varsity Theatre, when participating men strut their stuff (or attempt to) down a catwalk as supporters cheer them on. The participating man who raises the most funds gets crowned "Hottest Hunk for 2017"—and we challenge participants to top Country Roads publisher James Fox-Smith's winning $4,000 effort in 2014! All proceeds benefit the good works of STAR, which serves hundreds of sexual trauma survivors each year through free and confidential advocacy, counseling, and education services. 6 pm–10 pm at the Varsity Theater. $40–$65. brstar.org.
