to
Hammond Regional Arts Center 217 East Thomas Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70404
"Interpreting Nature" is a culmination of artworks created by local married couple and metal artists, John and Nancy Perilloux. Metals and nature combine in the couple's work to mimic the beauty of nature.
After meeting John 20 years ago, Nancy was instilled with a passion for forging metal jewelry. Nancy's career in art began with landscape paintings in spired by what she sees in her daily life, particularly in the wooded area of her home along Chappapeela Creek. After meeting John twenty years ago, Nancy also came to enjoy forging metal jewelry.
John Perilloux's work reflects the ever-changing qualities of nature. His designs use blacksmithing techniques that create one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, as well as sculpture and architectural works. As in his wife's work, his sculpture reveals images of our physical world.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, August 3 from 5 pm–8 pm. hammondarts.org.
