Christ Episcopal Church in Covington is bringing three consecutive days of music to the Northshore for the seventh consecutive year. The weekend of entertainment is made possible by individual and corporate sponsors, led by of "King of Swing" McMath Construction and a grant from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Foundation, Inc. $40 in advance and $50 at the door for each evening concert. Sunday masses are free. Here's the lineup:
Friday: Nellie McKay, Minos the Saint, and Aaron Maras.
Saturday: Cactus Thief, Handmade Moments, and Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen.
Sunday: The theme for the Sunday music Masses will be Shower the People, featuring the music of singer/songwriters of the seventies including James Taylor, Paul Simon, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and others.
Tickets available at jazzinjanuary.org or in person on weekdays from 9 am–2 pm at the church administration building, located at 129 N. New Hampshire Ave., near downtown Covington.
