Photojournalist Lee Ball has expertly captured the Bayou Teche Museum and adjacent Sliman Theatre with its newly refurbished Evangeline sign and marquee, and the image will now be unveiled as a poster for all to appreciate. The photograph was originally the cover of the September 2020 Acadiana Lifestyle magazine, and has been used by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser to promote the museum and New Iberia as a whole to those tourists near and far from Acadiana. Lee Ball, who captured the image, has covered New Iberia's cultural and social scenes since 1981, and this particular photograph is one of his most recent of the city's historic district from his nearly fifty-year-long career. Kate Ferry of Kate Ferry Graphic Design contributed to the poster, as well. An open house featuring a formal unveiling and poster signing will be held at the museum. The poster will be available for $30 at the museum, and shipping is also available. 11 am. Free. For more details, check the museum's Facebook or call (337) 606-5977.
