Leisure Cooking Classes at LCI

You don't have to be a career chef to be a student at Louisiana Culinary Institute. Their leisure cooking class program has something for just about everyone, and almost always include take-home results. Here are the classes offered in February, all of which take place in the state-of-the-art cooking facilities on LCI's campus. lci.edu or (225) 769-8820.
March 4
Tea Time Cookies: Join Chef Chris Nicosia for an evening of crafting dainty bites of sugary sweetness, including White Chocolate Lemon cookies with Lemon Curd filling, Dark Chocolate Mocha Cream sandwiches, and a Cornmeal Cranberry cookie with fresh rosemary. 5 pm–8 pm. $125.
March 6
Ice Cream Cone Drip Cake: Wow your friends, particularly your tinier ones, with this three layer confetti cake, topped with a melting ice cream cone dripping with ganache. 9 am–1 pm. $125.
March 18
Classic Petit Fours: Chef Jeanne Mancuso will teach you how to mix, bake, and decorate two dozen classic almond and strawberry flavored bite-size French cakes. 5 pm–8 pm. $125.
Creative Pasta Night: Chef Colt Patin will introduce participants to the art and craft of fresh pasta making. Learn to craft pasta for Italian Noodle Soup with Chicken Sausage, Farfalle Pasta, and Garlic Bread Sticks; Cheesy bacon-wrapped chicken spaghetti with Tuscan-Spiced Marinara; and Cajun Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi loaded with Roasted Broccoli Zucchini, and Squash. 5 pm–8 pm. $125.

Easter Bunny Carrot Cake: Mix, bake, and decorate a delicious and festive bunny carrot cake with Chef Jeanne Mancuso. 9 am–1 pm. $125.
