Louisiana’s Old State Capitol will host an exhibition of historical political cartoons, Lines with Power and Purpose: Editorial Cartoons, featuring over fifty original editorial cartoons from the nation’s great metropolitan newspapers during the Golden Age of print journalism. Pulitzer Prize–winning cartoonists including Bruce Alexander Russell, Herbert Lawrence Block (Herblock), Charles G.Werner, C.D Batchelor, Charles R. Macauley, and Vaughn Shoemaker present commentary on political issues form the past century.
Don't miss: On July 11, special guest Walt Handlesman, two-time Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist for The Advocate and syndicated in over 200 newspapers from around the world, will give a presentation of his cartoons. 5:30 pm.
