Live Oak Trees: Appreciation and Care

Keep Covington Beautiful hosts a Live Oak Tree Workshop this month, featuring speakers William Guion and James Culpepper. Guion has photographed the Louisiana landscape and its oaks for over thirty years. His work with historic Live Oaks in Louisiana, the 100 Oaks Project, documents some of the oldest surviving oaks in the state. His talk, "Quercus Quest," will review his long-term study of the Southern Live Oak. Culpepper, a licensed arborist, will speak on "Live Oaks, Selection, Preparation, and Care." 10 am–noon in the Bogue Falaya Hall at the Greater Covington Center. $10; free for KCB members.
