We know, we know ... Ruston is kind of far from most of you. But we also know that most of you can't get enough Ruston peaches when the season rolls around. Celebrating its seventy-sixth anniversary this year, the Ruston Peach Festival was awarded last year's Festival of the Year by the Louey Tourism Awards as a result of its "unique community collaborations, significant economic impact, [and] emphasis on local culture." 

So, this year is as good as any to make a peach pilgrimage to North Louisiana to experience the hype for yourself. How many pounds of peaches can you eat in two minutes? Enter the peach eating contest to find out, and fill any leftover space with peachy-keen tarts, pies, salads, preserves, and main dishes.
