This two-weekend festival takes over downtown Shreveport as creatives vie for huge cash prizes for film, food, fashion, music, and comedy, with over $100,000 at stake.
Special events include the Music Prize Discovery Show on October 13 (7 pm) and 14 (6 pm), featuring twelve musicians competing for the top award while putting on a fun performance for attendees and supporters. Held at the Remington Garage. $50.
The Fashion Prize Runway Brunch on October 15 will put five designers to the test in a full-out fashion show, celebrity judges and all. 11 am at the Phoenix Nightclub; Brunch included with general admission ($75).
Filmmakers at the festival have a chance at winning the world's largest cash prize for a short film—$50,000. The Louisiana Film Prize is the heart of the Prize Festival, and contenders will screen their projects in venues across the city from October 19–21. $50.
On October 20, six local chefs will battle for the "Golden Fork" award at the Remington Garage—which attendees will reap the benefits of, enjoying tastes of each dish with unique cocktails and voting for their favorites. 7 pm. $250 includes all food and drink.
Standup Comedy gets its moment at the Remington Garage on October 21, featuring seven standup comedians and a panel of celebrity comedy judges. 7 pm. $40.
