Lovely as a Tree
to
Louisiana Art & Science Museum 100 River Road South, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
The tree is a subject that has been celebrated in music, literature, and art for centuries, sometimes in surprising ways. Named after a passage in the beloved poem Trees (1913) by Joyce Kilmer, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum's new exhibition Lovely as a Tree presents this perennial plant form from a new perspective. Artworks in a wide range of mediums by both local and nationally recognized artists remind visitors about the many ways trees sustain life and renew the human spirit. On display through November 27. lasm.org.
Don't miss: On August 6, "Hands-On Happenings: Trees" will let visitors branch out and explore the tree form. 10:30 am–noon.
