Lunchtime Lecture: "Collecting Creole"

The February 7 installment of West Baton Rouge Museum's Lunchtime Lecture series will feature guest speaker Jeremy K. Simien. The local collector will discuss his own Creole heritage and how the vibrant Creole culture is reflected in the various mediums, including sketches, paintings, daguerrotypes, lithographs, and miniatures, curated in his and his wife Lindsay Simien's personal collection. Pieces on loan from the Simiens' collection are currently on display at the museum's exhibition Créoles du Monde which showcases history and artifacts of Creole cultures from around the world. Noon.
