Masquerade: The Traditions of New Orleans Mardi Gras

Louisiana State Archivist, Catherine Newsome, will discuss a brief history of Mardi Gras in Louisiana, as well as the new Mardi Gras exhibit Masquerade: The Traditions of New Orleans Mardi Gras at the Louisiana State Archives. This exhibit showcases the rich historic elements of Mardi Gras records and artifacts that the Archives house, as well as its evolution over time. The exhibit, located at the State Archives on Essen Lane, will run through April 14th and admission is free.
