The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners Association continues to partner with the East Baton Rouge Parish Libraries to offer free educational talks and workshops on gardening topics—here's what you can learn about this month:
April 4, Zachary Branch, 6:30 pm:
Cutting Flowers—Master Gardener Joy Boudreaux will present a talk on how to best grow and select flowers to display in your home.
Raised Beds—Advanced Master Gardener Kerry Hawkins will present a talk on cultivating raised garden beds, as well as how to best utilize other growing containers.
April 18, Carver Branch 5:30 pm:
Sensory Gardens—Presented by Master Gardener Lynn Pennington, this workshop will teach participants about the art of creating a garden to engage the senses, which can be particularly important to engage those with dementia as well as children.
House Plants—Master Gardener Kelly Hebert will discuss the best methods for taking care of house plants and helping them to thrive.
