The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners Association continues to partner with the East Baton Rouge Parish Libraries to offer free educational talks and workshops on gardening topics—here's what you can learn about this month:
June 6 at the Central Branch Library, 5:30 pm
Medicinal Plants: Master Gardener Lyn Hakeem and Dr. Margaret Evans DNP, APRN-BC, FNP will present a history on plants as medicine, with special focus on two herbs in particular. Guests will be able to observe proper preparation of these herbs through a hands-on demonstration.
Attracting Birds to Your Yards: Master Gardener Bob Dillemuth will help guests to parse out the intricacies of planning design, plant selection, and habitat creation that attract birds to your landscape.
June 20 at the Jones Creek Regional Branch Library, 6:30 pm
Propagating Demo: Master Gardener Cheri Fasy will answer any and all questions on making new baby plants, and will demonstrate the proper technique to source cuttings from your mom's yard, or even from the side of the road.
