Master Gardener Talks
Jones Creek Library 6222 Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70817
Just in time for spring planting, the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners present a series of talks at local libraries:
March 8 at the Jones Creek Library: "Beyond Basil: Year-Round Culinary Herbs" showcases culinary herbs that do well in Louisiana, along with tips for drying and preserving them and a few recipes. The second half of the bill, “Beneficial Pollinators in Your Garden,” explores the wealth of butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects that can be found in Louisiana and play a pivotal role in the lifecycle of plants and trees.
March 22 at the Main Library: "Daylilies" explores this diverse and beautiful group of flower, many of which we'll see gracing area gardens this spring; "Growing Spring Vegetables" will have your pan and plate singing with fresh produce this year, with a special emphasis on the beloved garden staple, the tomato.
Both programs run 6:30 pm–8:30 pm, and are free and require no registration. ebrmg.com.
