After gaining national claim int he early 2000's for their hit "I Can Only Imagine"—to this day the only Christian song to be certified 3x platinum by the Recording Industry of America—MercyMe went on to garner seven AMA nominations, and is currently up for the GMA Dove Awards Artist of the Year award. The song that started it all is currently being revived in the 2018 Erwin Brothers film I Can Only lmagine, which is based on the song's origins and is up for a People's Choice Award.
