We usually associate Middendorf's with that thin-fried catfish, but each fall they take diners on a German tour with their Oktoberfest offerings—including authentic dishes like wiener schnitzel, strudel, and pretzels; accompanied by live music and German beer. This annual German event comes from Middendorf’s Owner and European Master Chef Horst Pfeifer, who is a native of Germany, having grown up in the historic hamlet of Bächlingen where his family still lives today. Those who attend every week for the six weeks of Oktoberfest and fill out a punch card will win a special prize.
