Unfortunately, due to 2015's rain-out, the Mirliton Festival is taking a break this year. Organizers hope to bring it back in 2017.
The noble mirliton, a funny-shaped cousin of squash, has been important enough to the Bywater neighborhood to warrant a festival in its honor for twenty-five years now. Marked with music, drinks, and mirliton of all kinds, this longtime neighborhood festival is free to enjoy.
