Mississippi Encyclopedia Launch

In celebration of the state's bicentennial, authors Charles Reagan Wilson and Ted Ownby of The University of Mississippi collaborated on a brand-new, 1,451-page work, The Mississippi Encyclopedia. William Faulkner, Varina Davis, Walker Percy, Ida Wells, Fannie Lou Hamer, Oprah, Elvis: all these Mississippians and more, just bursting at the binding. Carolyn Vance Smith Natchez Literary Research Center at Copiah Lincoln Community College’s Willie Mae Dunn Library will host a free event to celebrate the book's release. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.
