MLK Festival of Service
to
Baton Rouge, La Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808
Anyone who has driven down Main or Government Streets in Baton Rouge has doubtlessly appreciated the colorful murals splashed on the walls of buildings. Public murals have become increasingly common in Baton Rouge in recent years, in part thanks to the annual MLK Festival of Service; slated to literally paint the town again this month. This year's festival will focus on Winbourne Avenue, from N. Foster to Howell Park. The goal of the project is not only to beautify the stretch of road, but more importantly to empower the community and initiate artistic engagement. 8 am–4 pm.
