"Monuments, Murals, and Myths: Uncovering the Truth about Public Art" Lecture
West Baton Rouge Museum 845 North Jefferson Avenue, Port Allen, Louisiana 70767
Spend your lunchbreak listening to a dynamic conversation about public art—its role in communities and the inherent complexities of the art form in aesthetics, maintenance, and re-interpretation. The discussion will feature a panel that includes Maya Curtis, Public Art Project Manager for Arts New Orleans; William Stark, Director of LSU's Rural Life Museum; and Ellen Ogden, a local fine artist and muralist—moderated by Elizabeth Chubbuck Weinstein, a museum consultant and independent curator.
The conversation is being held in conjunction with the exhibition Angela Gregory: Doyenne of Louisiana Sculpture, which was guest curated by Weinstein. Noon. Free. westbatonrougemuseum.org.
