It's National Bourbon Heritage Month, and several of New Orleans' most highly-esteemed restaurants are celebrating with specialty bourbon cocktails and menus full of small-batch craft bourbons to sip on at great prices. Here are some of the highlights:
Mister Mao: Offering a specialty bourbon menu, including rare small-batch bourbons.
Compère Lapin: Offering a new bourbon cocktail that embraces the "heritage" in Bourbon Heritage Month called the "I'm Not Dead Yet"—featuring a blend of Pinhook Bourbon, Moscatel, a house made amaro blend, Cocchi Americano Bianco, Averna and a dash of Angostura Bitters.
Tujagues: Offering a menu of specialty bourbon cocktails, including a Sweet Tea Old Fashioned and another with Belle Meade Reserve Bourbon, Peychaud's Oak Barrel Aged Bitters, Jade 'C.F. Berger' Absinthe, Supérierure, and Louisiana cane sugar.
Bayou Bar: Featuring a historic specialty cocktail called the Express Crack-a-jack, which includes Knob Creek Bourbon, house made espresso syrup, AMC (absinthe, maraschino, dry curacao), and bitters.
Toups Meatery: Will be running a specialty menu featuring a selection of high-end “Toups Choice” bourbons, along with several specialty cocktails like a Bourbon Manhattan and The Barsol Buffalo.
