No Dead Artists

Jonathan Ferrara Gallery 400A Julia Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
Founded by Jonathan Ferrara in 1995, the annual No Dead Artists exhibition gives space to emerging artists each year at the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery. With a name derived from that rather grim adage that suggests great artists never receive fame until they are dead, the exhibition aims to ensure this is not the case. The internationally juried exhibition has launched the careers of numerous artists, and this year features over forty artworks by fifteen finalists from as far as Argentina and England and as near as Westwego and New Orleans, in mediums ranging from photography and ceramics to collage and installation. The exhibition will be on display through October 31, with a self-guided art walk on October 2 from noon to 7 pm in conjunction with the Arts District of New Orleans' First Saturday Gallery Openings.
