No Dead Artists

Jonathan Ferrara Gallery 400A Julia Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
Founded by Jonathan Ferrara in 1995, the annual No Dead Artists exhibition gives space to emerging artists each year at the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery. With a name derived from that rather grim adage that suggests great artists never receive fame until they are dead, the exhibition aims to ensure this is not the case. The internationally juried exhibition has launched the careers of numerous artists, and now in its twenty-sixth year features artworks by finalists from as far as Belgium, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, France, Madagascar, Nigeria, and Venezuela; in mediums ranging from paintings to immersive sculptural installations and beyond. An opening reception will take place 5 pm–9 pm September 3 as part of the Arts District of New Orleans' First Saturday Gallery Openings. jonathanferraragallery.com.
