January with NOMA Book Club
New Orleans Museum of Art 1 Collins C. Diboll Circle, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124
The pinnacles of literature, art, and history come together for New Orleans literature fanatics with the New Orleans Museum of Art Book Club Curatorial Program. This informal reading group meets each month to discuss fiction and nonfiction books on art, artists, museums, and NOMA's collections and exhibitions. In addition to the monthly book discussion groups, members can also enjoy curatorial programs, field trips, and Meet the Author receptions—all held in person or via Zoom, determined at the beginning of each month. All meetings begin at noon.
For more information on the NOMA Book Club, contact NOMA's curator of Education, Tracy Kennan, at tkennan@noma.org or (504) 658-4113.
January's book of the month is Ninth Street Woman: Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell, and Helen Frankenthaler: Five Painters and the Movement that Changed Modern Art by Mary Gabriel.
A curatorial program will be held on Friday, January 15 at noon with Katie Pfohl, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, and a book discussion will be held Friday, January 29 at noon. Free.
