Opéra Louisiane: Cinderella

New voices breathe life into an old tale, as Opéra Louisiane's welcomes a variety of singers to the stage to perform Rossini's take on Cinderella. Cinderella is played by the dynamic Alexandra Rodrick, joining the company from New York, and her prince is the dashing Ecuadoran tenor Francisco Ortega. Mezzo-soprano Erin Moll and soprano Katherine Polit bring their comedic timing to the portrayal of the stepsisters. A few unique twists keep the familiar tale fresh as a wise tutor takes the place of the fairy godmother and the prince and his valet arrive disguised as one another. $16.50 for adults; free for ages 18 and under and college students. 3 pm at First Baptist Church. operalouisiane.com.
