Parrot Head Bike Ride for Our Environment
Mary Ann Brown Nature Preserve 13515 LA-Hwy 965, Saint Francisville, Louisiana 70775
The Mary Ann Brown Nature Preserve makes a pretty, and inspiring, place from which to launch the annual Parrot Head Bike Ride for Our Environment, with proceeds supporting the Nature Conservancy of Louisiana and the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Project. Participating cyclists can choose between nineteen- and twenty-seven-mile cycling routes, and each will receive a post-ride t-shirt, lunch, and drinks. Stops along the way will be stocked with drinks and fruit, too. Don't forget a helmet; can't ride without one. Registration begins at 7:30 am; rides begin at 9 am; post-ride party at 10 am. Registration is $25 if you preregister at USAcycling.org (you'll need to set up a free account), or $30 on the day. brphc.org.
