The Louisiana State Museum's Capitol Park Museum's newest exhibition looks at some of our state's most ancient archeological sites—its hundreds of American Indian mounds, which includes the oldest mounds in North America. The exhibit displays artistic renderings of ten of these Louisiana mound sites; some of which were ceremonial, others for burying the dead, and others built for reasons unknown. The Capitol Park Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am–4 pm. Admission prices are $7 for adults; $6 for students, senior citizens, and active military. Children six and under are free. louisianastatemuseum.org.
