NASA Solar System Ambassador Linda Gauthier will visit LASM this day to talk about the August 21 solar eclipse and share ways to view it safely (remember what mother said: do not look right at the sun), either from Baton Rouge or from locations in the path of totality. At 2 pm, visit the planetarium to see a featurette on the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017, followed by the program Earth, Moon & Sun, to learn more about the relationships among these celestial bodies. Small children can come enjoy story time and activity with our planetarium educators based on children's book Moon Bear’s Shadow. 1:30 pm—3 pm. lasm.org.
