Studies indicate that early childhood literacy correlates to better school performance down the road—which is part of why the East Baton Rouge Parish Library's Press Start! Ready, Set, Read! program aims to equip little ones ages two to four with the skills needed to enter school and start reading confidently. Each month, parents and caregivers can pick up a packet containing important early literacy concepts from any library children's room. Each monthly booklet will feature a new letter, number, color or concept, while also building on the previous month’s concepts. Families may start the program at any time. Current and past booklets will be provided, while supplies last. ebrpl.com.
