Something for everyone at the Courtyard Marriott today: Purses & Promises—A Girls' Night Out for Children's Literacy, hosted by the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence, features silent and live auctions of new and gently used purses and handbags, as well as new jewelry, artwork by local artists, and more. Guests can also enjoy live music, signature cocktails, draft beer selection, and delicious food. 

Doors open at 5 pm. $55. Included with your ticket is the sponsorship of a Terrebonne Parish child in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for one year. Through this program, all registered children ages newborn to five years old receive one age-appropriate book every month delivered to their home at no cost to their family. tfae.org.
