South Lafourche Library 16241 E Main Street, Cut Off, Louisiana 70345
From stone to digital, the physical media on which we read has undergone unthinkable change over the millennia—but also in some ways ...full circle.
Lafourche Parish Public Library is hosting "Reading the World: Tablet to Tablet" at three of its locations this month. Created by the Calcasieu Parish Public Library and Culture Fest Louisiana, the exhibit looks closely at the evolution of books through the centuries, from stone tablets to digital ones, examining how changes in time and differences in cultures have made their mark on the world through the written word.
The exhibit's artwork was created by Erik Jessen of Mixed Media Group. Free and open to the public. See below for locations and dates.
- South Lafourche Branch Library: January 9–22
- Lockport Branch Library: January 23–February 5
- Thibodeaux Branch Library: February 6–February 26
