New Orleans artist Regina Scully builds imaginary landscapes and vistas in her industrial-colored abstractions, alluding to places "not here," places of the future or of other planets and universes. Within these landscapes, to be displayed in Octavia Art Gallery's new solo exhibition, Scully inserts figures—some alone and some gathered in tribes—seeking, she says, for new terrains, for home.
The House I Live In will be exhibited from August 3 to September 28, with an opening reception from 6 pm–9 pm on White Linen Night.
