Reginald Pollack: Selections from NOMA
to
St. Tammany Art Association 320 North Columbia Street, Covington, Louisiana 70433
As part of an ongoing series of Causeway-straddling exhibits, the St. Tammany Art Association yearly presents works by well-known regional and national artists drawn from NOMA’s permanent collection. This time around it's Reginald Pollack & The Dance of Death. Pollack was a founding member of Galerie Huit, the first Parisian gallery operated by Americans, and his work has appeared everywhere from cathedrals to episodes of Star Trek. Yale. Much of his work is composed of bright, vibrant colors, but the paintings held in NOMA's collection are from the Dance of Death series created in the early-mid 1960's when some of his work was largely influenced by the darkness of the Vietnam War, JFK's assassination, and the Civil Rights movement. The show remains on display at STAA until November 26. Opening reception timed to coincide with Covington’s Fall for Art festival, which throngs downtown's streets this year from 6 pm–9 pm on October 8. 320 North Columbia Street.
