"Remember Earth?" at the Contemporary Arts Center
The 9th Annual Gulf South Open Call Exhibition
to
Contemporary Arts Center 900 Camp Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
For the Contemporary Arts Center's ninth annual Gulf South Open Call exhibition, artists face the reality of climate change head on. In works by fifty-four artists living in the Gulf South—a region at the frontline of the climate crisis—first person responses to the already imbalanced world come in the form of lasers, sound, video, poetry, paint, collage, found materials, living plants, fibers, and dance. Some of the works express hope. Some don't. The exhibition, titled Remember Earth poses the challenges from a cultural perspective: how do we change the way that we live now to ensure our long-term survival?
An opening celebration will take place on White Linen Night, from 6:30 pm–10 pm. Details at cacno.org.
