Resources for African American Genealogy
Scotlandville Branch Library 7373 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807
Come to the Scotlandville Branch Library for a class focused on resources to help patrons research their African American ancestors. Slavery, prejudice, and discrimination all played a role in the routine exclusion of African Americans from many records that could have documented details of their daily lives. This class will offer search techniques and special records collections to reveal resources and techniques to help fill the void. 11 am. Free, but registration is required. ebrpl.com.
