Resources for African American Genealogy
Main Branch Library 7711 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806
Come to the Main Branch Library for a class focused on resources to help patrons research their African American ancestors. Slavery, prejudice, and discrimination all played a role in the routine exclusion of African Americans from many records that could have documented details of their daily lives. This class will offer search techniques and special records collections to reveal resources and techniques to help fill the void. 7 pm at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard. (225) 231-3750.
