Mardi Gras at Home at the Williams Residence
to
The Historic New Orleans Collection 533 Royal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
As Mardi Gras approaches, the mid-twentieth-century home of The Historic New Orleans Collection's founders, General and Mrs. L. Kemper, will be appropriately awash with seasonal splendor. Photographs, favors, and ephemera from the Williamses' personal collections will be on display throughout the house. The passion for preservation that led the couple to found THNOC lends itself well to a Carnival display, with favors, crown jewels, and historic costume designs and invitations all included on the tour. Self-guided tours are available until February 25, but from January 10—February 8, daily at 11 am, THNOC will lead its annual "Rites, Rituals, and Revelry" Mardi Gras themed tour through the Williams Residence. Self-guided tours are free; $5 for "Rites, Rituals, and Revelry." hnoc.org.
