The 2022 New Orleans Orleans Opera Season will kick off at the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts with a performance of Barber of Seville with John Moore singing the lead role as Figaro. The production will be set in antebellum New Orleans, but will explore the same social maladies as the original set in Seville, Spain. One hour prior to each performance Dr. Tara Melvin, Director of Community Partnerships and Education for the New Orleans Opera, will lead a discussion of the societal issues explored within the production. September 30 at 7:30 pm, October 2 at 2:30 pm. Tickets range from $37-$227. neworleansopera.org.
