In 2016, North Carolina-based Acme Food & Beverage Company launched a festival that traveled throughout the South providing a smorgasbord of down-home southern delicacies, beer, live music, and general revelry. The Salt & Smoke Festival is making its way back to Baton Rouge, promising even more smoked meats and good times. This year's festival features a whole twenty-four-hour smoked pig, a crawfish boil, cold beer, all the Southern sides your grandma used to make, and all-day local live music.
• On April 8, Salt & Smoke will also be bringing its delicious roadshow to Natchez, setting up on the Bluff to show Mississippi's barbecue hounds a thing or two. Do yourself a favor and catch one of their dinners; it's good eatin'. saltandsmokefest.com.
