Shanghai String Quartet with Logos String Quartet

Renowned for its passionate musicality, impressive technique, and multicultural innovations, the Shanghai Quartet is one of the world's foremost chamber ensembles. This quartet's elegant style melds Eastern music with a Western repertoire, performing traditional Chinese folk music, masterpieces of Western music and cutting-edge contemporary works. Their concert will include Frank Bridge's Three Noveletten for String Quartet and Johannes Brahms’s String Quartet in c minor, op. 51/1. The Logos String Quartet—with Lin He and Roxana Pavel on violins, Elias Goldstein on viola, and Dennis Parker on cello—will join the Shanghai String Quartet for the second half to perform Mendelsson's Octet. LSU School of Music Recital Hall. 7:30 pm, $17. cmda.lsu.edu.
