Southern Craft's Second Anniversary Party
Southern Craft Brewing 14141 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70817

Lucie Monk Carter
Southern Craft Brewery—Baton Rouge's second craft brewing operation—has hit a milestone: two years of wetting Baton Rouge whistles with its flagships Red Stick Rye and Pompous Pelican Double IPA, as well as Swamp Sting honey ale, Citeaux coffee oatmeal stout (with local roasters Cafeciteaux), and the hop-centric Hyla (a six-pack of which currently waits in our managing editor's fridge for the weekend to begin). In that time, Southern Craft has made the leap to canning its beers and selling them in stores, but the best experience is still to be had at its taproom, where anniversary celebrations will erupt on Saturday, April 7. Festivities include beers to sample, live music by Katie Kenny & Jordan Babin (2 pm–5 pm) and Mighty Brother (6 pm–9 pm), and food from Secret Lair Taqueria and Geaux Cuban. 1 pm–9 pm. $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Free entry for designated drivers.
Visit Facebook for tickets and the latest details. And look for Southern Craft cans on local market shelves, like Calandro's, Alexander's, and Matherne's—with Albertson's entering the mix in April 2018.
