Spirit of Louisiana Jazz Funeral and Second Line

City Park hosts the Spirit of Louisiana Jazz Funeral and Second Line, an event honoring pandemic and hurricane recovery workers as well as the lives lost during the pandemic. With the organizational guidance of Norman Dixon Jr., president of Young Men Olympian Junior Benevolent Association, the public is encouraged to attend, express gratitude, participate in the procession if desired and welcomes those grieving to carry mementos in memory of loved ones. Presented by the Krewe of Black & Gold, the event highlights New Orleans culture featuring the YMO, Big Chief Bo Dollis and the Wild Magnolia Mardi Gras Band as well as the TBC Brass Band. 4 pm.
