There is an increasing trend in the twenty-first century for artists to not define themselves based on the media in which they work. Artist Trevor Gould from Johannesburg, South Africa has a new multimedia installation titled Talking to Death: An Allegory for Sculpture at The Hilliard Art Museum that explores this idea. The project is comprised of many works of art, treated as a bloc of sorts but made up of representational sculpture, loose gestural paintings, and non-objective abstraction. hilliardmuseum.org.
A Spring Opening Celebration for all of the exhibits currently on display at The Hilliard will be held from 6 pm–8 pm on February 11.
