The Art of Illumination

Manuscript illumination is the process in which text is accompanied by decorations and illustrations, as in the lavishly illustrated medieval texts that now populate museums. Abbey Art Works artist-in-residence Lyn Taylor will lead participants through the process of manuscript painting and placing gold leaf on paper.
