Nestled off of the Mississippi River, the tiny community of Pointe-Marie in Baton Rouge will once again spend the first weekend of April decked out in a wildly colorful collaboration between human artistry and nature's impeccable touch. For this year's Flower Fest, groups of floral professionals will compete to showcase their abilities, vision, and execution. All in the name of flora, local chefs, musicians, artisans, and locals will come together to indulge in a lush vision of creative community—all while raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
It all kicks off with the "Once Upon a Dream" gala on Friday—hosted by Southern Linguistic TikTok star Landon Bryant, famed local photographer Jody Johnston, and returning MC Victoria Armstrong. Guests will get a first look at the jaw-dropping installations, while enjoying complimentary champagne and entertainment by award winning violinist Shaun Ward, DJ Supa Mike, Frenchman Productions from New Orleans, and others. Tickets are $175, and include two drink tickets and cash bar access, as well as delicacies by Crafted Nibbles Charcuterie, Full of Flavor Catering, and All Things Sweet by Victoria. Guests are encouraged to wear floral gowns, crowns, and suits.
Events carry forth for the rest of the weekend on the festival grounds on Pointe Marie Square—featuring food trucks, floral markets, and complimentary crafting experiences, making flower sculptures, crowns, bouquets, and more. Festival tickets are $20/day.
