The Louisiana Sports Festival

Often, festivals are an excuse to scarf down as much fried-everything as you can before your knees buckle, but a new palooza coming to Baton Rouge this summer promises a different sort of physical toll. The Louisiana Sports Festival encompasses ten sporting events—including Vanguard Race’s OCR obstacle course events, BRAMBA Bike Time Trials, WHOA Racing Company Trail Run, Rockwall Competition, Off-Road Mountain Bike Duathlon, Great Scavenger Hunt Run, and even a Midnight 12K. You don't have to participate in all ten—in fact, spectators are just as welcome, and a music festival both Friday and Saturday night should draw a crowd. Premium RV camping, limited primitive camping, and activities for adults and children alike, too. It all takes place at BREC's Farr Park. 7 am–3 am on Saturday; 7 am–4 pm Sunday. Entrance to the festival is free, with costs to enter individual events; series discounts and VIP packages are available.
