Joseph McGill
Preserve Louisiana, known previously as The Foundation for Historical Louisiana, will host a panel discussion with Joseph McGill of The Slave Dwelling Project, along with other local preservationists and historians. The Slave Dwelling Project, a nationally recognized initiative exploring plantation life from the perspective of slaves, invites people to spend the night in buildings once occupied by slaves. Following the Thursday evening panel, McGill and others will travel to Oakley Plantation on Saturday, March 18, where they invite the public to experience a night in the still-standing slave quarters.
The March 16 panel discussion begins at 6:30 pm at the Old Governor's Mansion. For information and registration for the events, email info@preserve-louisiana.org.
