This February, The Soul Rebels come to the Varsity Theatre, taking the local groove a few funky steps above and beyond the average New Orleans brass band. The eight-piece ensemble founded by NOLA natives mixes the city's lively brass tradition with elements of pop, hip-hop, jazz, rock, and soul. They're game for most any melody that moves the spirit, collaborating with artists ranging in style from Trombone Shorty to Marilyn Manson to Pretty Lights.
