Virtual Youth Fishing Rodeo
to
Kids under fifteen can prove their fishing prowess this summer from the comfort of their favorite lake, river, or bayou. The Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges and the Friends of Louisiana Refuges Inc. are teaming up to host a free Virtual Youth Fishing Rodeo, which invites young anglers to catch as many fish as they can between 5:30 am June 10, and 8:15 pm June 11. Participants will then make a sign saying "#GetYourFishOn 2023," which will be displayed alongside them holding their catch for a photo submitted to virtualfishingrodeo@gmail.com or to the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex Facebook page via Facebook messenger. Extra points will be awarded for creatively decorated signs. Photos of competitors and their catches must be received by 4 pm June 12, and prize winners will be selected randomly from the photos received and will be announced Friday, June 16.
