Walking Tour of Historic Port Allen

The West Baton Rouge Museum will present a guided walking tour of historic Port Allen as part of the city’s Centennial Celebration, led by Port Allen local Doug Wilkinson. Take in the history and heritage of this small town, beginning at the Old Ferry Landing and concluding at the West Baton Rouge Museum. Doug Wilkinson will keep roving participants enriched and entertained as he shares stories about the Old Ferry Landing, the speakeasy on Court Street, North Jefferson Avenue’s start as a major “Palm to Pine” highway.
