Oral storytelling is one of the oldest art forms, utilized century after century to pass down traditions, legends, and history. The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is joining a global celebration of this important, ancient art by participating in World Storytelling Day, held on the Spring Equinox of March 20 this year. The 2022 event's theme, perhaps appropriately, is "Lost and Found". The goal of the worldwide event, which began in Sweden in 1991 and is the first of its kind, is for as many people to tell and hear stories in as many different languages and locations as is possible. 3 pm. Free. In addition to being held in person at the Firehouse Event Center, the event will be live streamed to the CCA Facebook Page.
